Wuhan, September 10 (Xinhua) — By Liang Ting and Xu Chen. Reporters learned from Wuhan Hanou International Logistics Co., Ltd. on the 10th that the China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) and the Yangtze River “Golden Waterway” are exerting a synergistic effect. In the first eight months of this year, the return trains transshipped 18,102 TEUs via the Wuhan Yangluo Port, a year-on-year increase of 198%.
It is understood that the cargo on the return trains of the China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) mainly includes timber and rubber from Russia, mechanical equipment and daily necessities from Germany, and agricultural products from Central Asia, which are primarily distributed to cities such as Taicang, Shanghai, Qingdao, and Dalian.
In January this year, Wuhan was approved to build the Central China Regional Assembly Center for the China-Europe Railway Express. As the core hub of the China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) Assembly Center, the Hanou International Logistics Park connects Yangluo Port, Tianhe Airport, and others, opening up direct river-sea routes and international air channels, and broadening the radiation range of the China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan).
In June, Hubei launched its first “One-Bill System” train for rail-water combined transport. By integrating the transport chain, it achieves one-time entrustment, one bill through, one container through, and one-time settlement. Compared with previous transport methods, the entire transport time is shortened by more than 5 days, improving the service level of multimodal transport.
Currently, with the China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) as a link, the Yangtze River “Golden Waterway” is closely connected to the Eurasian Land Bridge. Multiple international transit transport channels, such as “Europe-Wuhan-Japan” and “South Korea-Wuhan-Europe,” help foreign trade enterprises expand their markets. The combined transport model of “China-Europe Railway Express + Han-Asia Direct Shipping” shortens the transit time by about one-third compared to traditional transport methods, reduces the comprehensive logistics costs for enterprises, and achieves internal and external connectivity through multimodal transport.
Data shows that as of now, the China-Europe Railway Express (Wuhan) has cumulatively operated 5,712 trains, carrying goods worth over 120 billion yuan.
