KUNMING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) — The China-Laos Railway International Multimodal Transport Information Service Platform was officially launched and put into operation in Kunming on the 29th, aiming to build a digital hub for international logistics facing ASEAN.
From its opening on December 3, 2021, to May of this year, the total volume of freight transported on the China-Laos Railway exceeded 60 million tons, including 13.9 million tons of cross-border freight, with its role as an international “Golden Corridor” becoming increasingly prominent.
Relying on the China-Laos Railway, Yunnan and the railway department have promoted the development of the “Lancang-Mekong Express+” international multimodal transport. The operation of the “Single Bill” freight train for China-Laos-Thailand multimodal transport has helped customers save 30% in costs and improve efficiency by 40%; the launch of the “Kunming Land Port Number” multimodal freight train has achieved operational connectivity between land port cities and seaport cities; the operation of the “Lancang-Mekong Express+” China-Laos-Thailand-Cambodia international multimodal freight train has opened up a new international freight channel from China to Cambodia; the inaugural run of the “Zheng He号” sea-road-rail international multimodal train marks the opening of a new international logistics corridor connecting southwest China to the Indian Ocean.
It is reported that as the only informatization project from Yunnan included in China’s national comprehensive freight hub supply chain enhancement and strengthening list, the China-Laos Railway International Multimodal Transport Information Service Platform has innovatively built a “Single Bill” and “Single Container” service model, integrating 12 core functions such as order management, intelligent dispatch, and customs clearance services, achieving a technical breakthrough of over 80% transport automation rate and 100% real-time cargo tracking.
On the same day, eight units including China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd. signed cooperation agreements with the platform, joining this new smart logistics ecosystem and working together to promote the high-quality development of cross-border logistics. (End)
