China-Mongolia’s largest land port handles over 15 million tons of import and export cargo this year

Hohhot, October 31 (Xinhua) — China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Co., Ltd. announced on the 31st that as of October 30, the Erenhot Railway Port had handled 15.0139 million tons of import and export cargo this year, a year-on-year increase of 4.0%.

Located in the far north of China, the Erenhot Railway Port is the largest land port between China and Mongolia and a key node on the central route of the China-Europe Railway Express.

Yang Dongdong, head of the Technical Section of the Erenhot Station under China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Co., Ltd., stated that since the beginning of this year, the railway department has made every effort to manage the entry and exit of international through transport goods and freight organization. Currently, the border inspection and customs clearance time for each train has been reduced to approximately 20 minutes.

Yang Dongdong said that the number of China-Europe Railway Express routes operating via the Erenhot Railway Port has now increased to 74, reaching over 70 cities in more than 10 countries overseas and domestically radiating to most of the originating cities of the China-Europe Railway Express.
