CIMC Pacific Offshore 40,000 cubic meter liquefied gas carrier achieves dual milestones

Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (CIMC SOE) has achieved consecutive significant progress on the series of 40,000 cubic meter liquid ammonia carriers being built for Avance Gas: the second ship (S1084) and the third ship (S1085) of this series have successively completed key construction milestones, marking the project’s entry into a rapid advancement phase.

S1084 Successfully Launched
On August 22, S1084 successfully completed its launching milestone, formally entering the outfitting and equipment commissioning stage. The event was witnessed by the shipowner’s site manager Marian Alexandru and the owner’s site team, LR site manager Ji Han Lee, the ship surveyor’s site team, CIMC SOE Shipbuilding Division Deputy General Manager Chen Bin, and the project team.

S1085 Successfully Moved to Berth
On August 26, S1085 successfully achieved its berthing milestone, commencing the new stage of hull block assembly. The event was witnessed by the shipowner’s site manager Marian Alexandru and the owner’s site team, LR site manager Ji Han Lee, the ship surveyor’s site team, CIMC SOE Shipbuilding Division Deputy General Manager Chen Bin, and the project team.

The successful achievement of these dual milestones signifies a new breakthrough in the construction efficiency of CIMC SOE for this series project. Currently, the first ship of the series has entered the final pre-delivery stage and is expected to be delivered within this year. The remaining three ships are scheduled for delivery in batches starting from 2026. The smooth progress of this series project demonstrates CIMC SOE’s construction strength and project management level in the field of clean energy vessels.
