Must read

Clarksons’ renewables division has launched ‘AIR,’ a marine advisory service designed to support clients already operating in, or looking to enter, the offshore wind sector

AIR will provide operational and commercial decision-making tools and insights to industry stakeholders. Combining Clarksons’ global reach and experience in vessel procurement, market intelligence and industry research along with energy and marine experts, Clarksons said the service “will help clients minimise risk, increase operational efficiency and deliver excellence during development and offshore execution.”

Led by David Matthews, Mikkel Nielsen and Gabriel Andersen – formerly GE Renewable Energy, Iberdrola and Ørsted, respectively – AIR will offer development of EPCI and O&M marine strategies for fixed and floating wind; vessel and logistics procurement planning, including tender management and execution; commercial market intelligence and industry research in collaboration with Clarksons’ global brokering teams and Clarksons Research; emerging market supply chain engagement and implementation support; technical, operational and commercial due diligence for new vessel design; equipment concepts; and complimentary offshore wind corporate business development solutions.

Clarkson Renewables managing director Frederik Andersen said, “Clarksons’ DNA stems from 170 years of global shipping and offshore activities including 20 years of pioneering the offshore wind sector.

“Our combined resources represent the largest full-service marine shipbroking, logistics and advisory firm in the offshore renewable energy sector.

“With AIR, we are uniquely positioned to utilise our vast cross-sector experience from our deepwater shipping, port services, investment banking, research, IT and oil and gas teams to enable the marine advisory service to act as a catalyst for our clients strategies, be that shipowners, OEMs, developers, oil and gas companies, contractors, fabrication yards, banks, investors or government agencies.”

The Clarksons Renewables division has eight teams based in Aarhus, Aberdeen, Hamburg, Houston, London, Oslo, Shanghai and Singapore. These teams are supported by inhouse resources available in New York, Seoul, Rio and Tokyo.

The Offshore Wind Journal Conference will be held 14 June 2022. Details and tickets can be found here
