The east Asian classification society has granted its innovation endorsement to two security products that protect ships and onboard networks from cyber threats
ClassNK has granted its innovation endorsement to Rakuten Maritime for two solutions for the cyber security of ships and onboard electronics.
The Japanese class society has endorsed CYTUR TM and CYTUR SC-P, which were developed by Rakuten Symphony and CYTUR.
CYTUR TM is software for analysing and visualising cyber threats to the vessel through threat modelling techniques during the design phase.It identifies cyber-attack surfaces on computer-based systems on vessels and detects known vulnerabilities.
CYTUR SC-P uses hardware and software to scan an onboard network system to identify vulnerabilities and attack surfaces of computer-based systems with a corresponding risk score, automatically identifying maritime equipment on a vessel during commissioning or sea trials when it is installed in multiple network zones. CYTUR SC-P can automatically set the available bandwidth of the vessel’s onboard network.
Through its innovation endorsement programme, ClassNK supports the deployment of products and services through third-party certification for equipment and software technology with innovative functions.
