CMA CGM announced the application of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on containers mobilized from the Far East to West Africa.

This is part of a “continuous effort to offer our customers reliable and efficient services,” as highlighted by the French shipping line. The measure will come into effect from November 1, 2025.

Thus, cargo exported from the Far East destined for West Africa (north, central, and south zones) will be subject to a PSS of USD 200 per TEU. This will be applicable to short-term contracts.

“Please note that, for shipments from China, the aforementioned peak season surcharge will be subject to our filing with the Shanghai Shipping Exchange /or included in the ocean freight,” clarified CMA CGM.

The aforementioned may also be subject to fuel-related surcharges, terminal handling charges (THC) at origin and destination, along with security and protection fees.
