CMA CGM Upgrades NEFWI Service, Enhancing Caribbean and North Europe Connectivity

Must read

CMA CGM is set to significantly upgrade its NEFWI (North Europe – French West Indies) service, branded internally as PCRF, beginning in January 2026. This initiative aims to deliver greater reliability, improved regional coverage, and increased capacity to meet growing market demands.

The enhanced service will be upsized from six to seven ships, all featuring a higher reefer capacity to accommodate the refrigerated cargo needs of the region. The route will incorporate new port calls at Puerto Antioquia and Rotterdam. The Puerto Antioquia call will be implemented earlier, starting in November 2025, upon the opening of the new terminal.

The revised rotation will be:

Dunkerque – London – Rotterdam – Antwerp – Le Havre – Fort-de-France – Pointe-à-Pitre – Kingston – Puerto Antioquia – Puerto Moin – Cartagena – Santa Marta – Fort-de-France – Pointe-à-Pitre

The upgraded NEFWI service is specifically designed to offer optimum arrival times at the beginning of the week, efficiently serving the Martinique and Guadeloupe markets from North Europe. It is a highly reefer-oriented product, supported by CMA CGM’s high reefer fleet capacity moving goods from Costa Rica, Colombia, Central America, and the French West Indies to Europe.

In conjunction with the NEFWI upgrade, and supported by CMA CGM’s investment in modernizing the ports of Martinique and Guadeloupe, the company will also launch a new Hub Antilles to significantly improve feedering operations in the region.

As part of this new hub strategy, CMA CGM will deploy a new feeder service connecting Guatemala and Honduras directly to Pointe-à-Pitre. This new feeder will link to the NEFWI service, providing customers with best-in-class transit times to and from North Europe.

This comprehensive initiative aligns with regional market dynamics and reaffirms CMA CGM’s commitment to delivering high-quality service and supporting trade growth between Europe and the Caribbean.
