Colombia: Ecopetrol’s maritime terminals in Cartagena receive port certification

Must read

The General Maritime Directorate (Dimar) of Colombia granted Ecopetrol the certification of the International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Facilities (ISPS) until 2030 for the Néstor Pineda Terminal and the Cartagena Refinery Maritime Terminal.

The delivery of the accreditation means that the two facilities comply with the highest standards of the Maritime Security Management System.

These facilities carry out export, import, and domestic transfer activities for products. Each year they serve an average of 220 tanker vessels with a volume close to 15 million barrels of different types of hydrocarbons.

Dimar evaluated the effectiveness of the security protocols applied to the port terminals through audits it conducts annually. By finding no findings in the security operation over the last four years, it granted this recognition to the two Ecopetrol facilities.

This is the first time in history that Ecopetrol has received this endorsement for five years, which, according to the company, confirms the excellent work of the Company in port management to leverage the growth of the country’s international trade chain.
