Spot rates on container freight out of China continue their consistent downward trajectory.
Spot rates on global box freight have fallen for 22 weeks in a row, shows the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI).
The SCFI, which measures spot prices on container transportation from Shanghai to a range of destinations around the globe, decreased by 8.6 percent to 1,443.29 during the week.
Compared to the corresponding period last year, it’s a decline of 68.3 percent and the lowest level since early October 2020.
The downturn began on June 10, when the index was at 4,233.31.
