During the 2025 London Shipping Week, the theme forum on “Providing Green and Intelligent Solutions for the Safe, Sustainable and Efficient Shipping Industry” was held in London a few days ago, attracting nearly 150 Chinese and foreign industry insiders. Participants said that in the future, China-UK and China-EU cooperation will be further strengthened around green fuel research and development.
At the event, COSCO SHIPPING Group and China Classification Society focused on the latest technologies and practical achievements of China Shipping in the field of green, intelligent and sustainable development. COSCO SHIPPING (UK) officially released the results of environmental and social governance (ESG) practices, which were witnessed by many Chinese and foreign guests. China Classification Society demonstrated its latest explorations in the field of green and digitalization at the scene, including the formulation of more than 30 green and digital ship standards, the construction of an intelligent ship digital twin platform, and the establishment of a zero-carbon shipping innovation laboratory.
IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Domingos said in his speech that over the years, the IMO has called on shipowners, countries and enterprises to invest in new technologies and take practical measures to decarbonize the shipping industry.

According to reports, more than one-third of COSCO SHIPPING Group’s new ships are new energy ship types, and the overall operational efficiency is improved through blockchain and artificial intelligence technology.
