Hundreds of protesters with Palestinian flags prevented the docking

Syros – The cruise ship Crown Iris, the only passenger vessel flying the Israeli flag, was forced on Tuesday to cancel its stop on the Greek island of Syros after being met with a massive pro-Palestine protest. According to local sources, hundreds of demonstrators — mostly island residents — blocked access to the port, waving Palestinian flags and raising a banner reading “Stop the genocide,” in protest against Israel’s military operations in Gaza. The ship, owned by Israeli operator Mano Maritime and built in 1992, was carrying approximately 1,600 passengers. None of them were permitted to disembark for security reasons, as confirmed by sources close to the company. The Crown Iris, with a gross tonnage of 41,700 tons, was part of an Eastern Mediterranean itinerary.
