Recently, Dajin Heavy Industry’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Panjin Dajin Marine Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Panjin Dajin”), signed a “Heavy Cargo Ship Construction Contract” with a well-known South Korean shipping company to design and build a 23,000 DWT heavy-duty wind power deck transport ship for it. This cooperation confirms Dajin Heavy Industry’s independent R&D and construction capabilities in the field of ultra-large transport ships and is a key breakthrough for Panjin Dajin in entering the international ship market.
The 23,000 DWT heavy-duty wind power deck transport ship signed in this contract has an overall length of about 165 meters, a molded width of 42 meters, and a molded depth of 10 meters. The contract amount is about 300 million yuan, with delivery scheduled for 2027. It is worth noting that this is Panjin Dajin’s first market-oriented order while ensuring the progress of its own ship construction, which not only reflects its project coordination and production management level but also marks that Dajin Heavy Industry’s shipbuilding capability has been recognized by international shipowners.
From the perspective of industry and corporate strategy, the landing of this order has dual milestone significance.
At the corporate level, this breakthrough intuitively demonstrates Dajin Heavy Industry’s expansion of its business chain from wind power equipment manufacturing to the shipbuilding field—previously focused on the R&D and manufacturing of core equipment such as offshore wind turbine towers and pile foundations, it now successfully achieves a closed loop of the industrial chain from “wind power equipment production to specialized transport guarantee” through its independent shipbuilding capability, realizing horizontal broadening and vertical deepening of its business segments, thereby further enhancing the company’s risk resistance and comprehensive competitiveness;
At the industry level, leveraging its deep understanding of the transportation needs for wind power equipment, Dajin Heavy Industry has precisely entered the niche market of specialized shipbuilding. This not only fills some of the gaps in the localization of specialized transport equipment for the wind power industry but also provides a practical sample for companies within the industry to explore diversified development paths.
