De Wave, a Genoese company led by Riccardo Pompili and controlled by Platinum Equity since 2019, will acquire exclusive control of Electrical Marine, O.M. Project and Cantieri Navali San Carlo.

This was announced by the Autorità Garante per la Concorrenza e il Mercato (Italian Competition Authority) which reviewed these acquisitions to assess the risks of a possible market concentration. “The Operation concerns the sector of naval outfitting,” recalls the Antitrust. “De Wave is active in naval outfitting services, interior and technical, for cruise ships and yachts, as well as in refitting, repair, maintenance and refurbishment services for cruise ships. The Targets are active in the design, construction and installation of electrical wiring systems as well as naval outfitting services, repair, maintenance, refurbishment and refitting activities, interior and technical, for luxury vessels (yachts).”

The deadline for submitting observations is set for October 20 next.

In detail, Electrical Marine, founded in 1980 and based in Borgaro Torinese (Turin), boasts considerable experience in the construction of electrical, electronic, safety and automation systems. Electrical Marine, with the opening of the Varazze hub, supports shipowners who need to rely on the professionalism and care of those who have been building luxury yachts for over 30 years. O.M. Project was founded in Turin in 2008 to carry out metal carpentry and stainless steel work primarily for nautical purposes, later also developing in the field of furnishings and construction in general, recently with a further development in the field of outfitting (shops, exhibitions, fashion events, etc.).

Cantieri Navali San Carlo is based in Borgaro Torinese (Turin) and operates in the sector of construction of pleasure and sports boats.

De Wave is active in naval outfitting services, interior and technical, for cruise ships and yachts, as well as in refitting, repair, maintenance and refurbishment services for cruise ships. The company specializes in all aspects of cruise ship and yacht interiors, including cabins, bathroom units, pantry catering systems and common areas. The company offers extensive capabilities for upgrades, maintenance and spare parts, providing solutions for the entire vessel lifecycle. De Wave manages five plants in Italy, Poland, Singapore and the United States, with vertically integrated production lines, offering full control throughout the product development process. In 2022, the company acquired Tecnavi, FCR Finland and Mobil-Line.
