DFDS suspends the sailing of the fast ferry Levante Jet between Jersey and Poole from November to April. Instead, the ferry will serve as a replacement vessel on the Jersey–St. Malo route while the Tarifa Jet is in dry dock.

The change to the new DFDS route also means that the Levante Jet will be taken completely out of service until the summer season, when the Tarifa Jet returns, according to DFDS’s newly published schedule.

“We are aware that this decision will affect islanders and disappoint some travelers, and we apologize for the inconvenience this causes. We are focused on providing a long-term, sustainable service for Jersey, including investing in future tonnage for the island,” says Chris Parker, route director for the Jersey departures, according to Søfart.

However, DFDS maintains a capacity of up to 77,000 passengers between Jersey and Great Britain and 134,000 passengers to France during the period November–March. Furthermore, there will continue to be crossings with the car ferry Stena Vinga between Portsmouth and Jersey.

DFDS took over the operation of the Jersey routes in March of this year on a 15-year contract.
