The director-general of the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq), Frederico Dias, conducted the first institutional visit of his term to the Port of Santos (SP) and reviewed the actions of the regional management over the past week.

During the trip, Dias spoke with the leaders of the port facility, which is the largest in Brazil, and learned about the investment plans and expected projects for the complex.

In addition to the institutional visit, the director-general also went to the headquarters of the Antaq Regional Management of Santos to learn about the actions carried out by the local inspectors.

The regional manager of Santos, Guilherme Silva, and the deputy, Daniel Alves, presented to Dias points such as the area of operation of the management and the entities regulated under the regional supervision – port operators, leased terminals, Private Use Terminals (TUPs), Cargo Transshipment Stations (ETCs) and Brazilian Navigation Companies (EBNs).

The management also detailed the Agency’s role in the National Commission for Public Security in Ports, Terminals and Waterways (Conportos), in the State Commission for Public Security in Ports, Terminals and Waterways (Cesportos-SP), in the Local Commission of Authorities at the Port of Santos (Claps), in the State Commission for the Prevention of Accidents and Incidents in the Port Complex of Santos and São Sebastião (/SP) and in the ANTAQ Specialized Inspection Group, which deals with demurrage.
