It is understood that the newly opened “Dongguan-Ho Chi Minh-Kampot” route is operated by Huaxin Container Transport Co., Ltd. and is another important route connecting Dongguan Port with key Southeast Asian ports. The service adopts a “close Friday, sail Sunday” schedule model, requiring only 4.5 days to reach Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and 5.5 days to reach Kampot, Cambodia. Compared to traditional transshipment routes, logistics efficiency is improved by nearly 30%, effectively reducing corporate logistics costs.

“This route precisely connects Dongguan’s manufacturing industrial cluster with the core ASEAN market and is currently the only direct liner service from Dongguan to Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodia,” said Lin Yuqi, Customer Manager of the Commercial Department at Dongguan Port Phase II Terminal.

To ensure the smooth opening of the route and the safe maiden voyage of the “Lianhe Caifu”, the Dongguan Maritime Safety Administration planned ahead, establishing a full-chain guarantee system of “pre-service + dynamic supervision + emergency standby”.

“Regarding the opening of this new route, maritime law enforcement officers boarded the vessel during its operations to conduct on-site inspections of key aspects such as cargo stowage and container lashing and securing, identifying safety risks and urging the correction of non-standard practices. They also comprehensively utilized technological means like ‘CCTV and smart maritime systems’ to implement dynamic monitoring and guide the vessel safely out of the port,” said Li Ming, a law enforcement officer from the Dongguan Shatian Maritime Safety Administration.

It is understood that the opening of this new route is a key measure for Dongguan Port to seize the RCEP opportunity and effectively connect Dongguan’s manufacturing industrial cluster with the core ASEAN market. It will inject new momentum into the high-quality development of foreign trade between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Vietnam and Cambodia. (End)
