Must read

DP World concentrated 60% of Peruvian avocado exports that were shipped through the Port of Callao, after adding 22,596 TEU by September 2025, out of a total of 37,678 TEU handled through the Chalaco port facility.

“This performance reaffirms Callao’s leadership as a key logistics center for the export of Peruvian avocado to the main international markets. From DP World we contribute to this emblematic product of Peruvian agriculture reaching the world efficiently and safely, strengthening the country’s agro-export chain,” said Carlos Merino, CEO for DP World Peru, Ecuador and Colombia.

Of the 37,678 TEU of avocado exported from the Port of Callao, 67.5% of the containerized cargo was destined for the European market, followed by North America (15.35%), South America (7.75%), Asia (7.71%), Central America (1.28%) and Africa (0.40%).

In the 2025 season, national exports of this product have been reaching 690,000 metric tons, which represents a 37% increase compared to the previous year, according to data from the Association of Hass Avocado Producers and Exporters of Peru (ProHass).

It is worth remembering that in 2024, 32,400 TEU of avocado were mobilized through this port infrastructure, of which 50% were shipped from the Muelle Sur Terminal, operated by DP World Callao.
