Dualog has introduced a new identity management system with Single Sign-On (SSO) to simplify access to its onboard and cloud-based services across shipping fleets.
The system assigns each seafarer a unique Dualog account, removing the need for shared logins and manual account setups. Crew lists can be imported via API or CSV, with automated provisioning and deactivation based on role, vessel assignment or crew change events.
Once created, the account acts as a personal identity for accessing multiple systems, including email, crewing platforms, training tools, cybersecurity services and other applications.
The company says that one of the motivations for unifying access under a single login is to improve shipping companies’ compliance with standards such as IACS /E27, NIS2 and IMO cyber risk management guidelines.
The approach also helps to address common risks such as inactive accounts and password sharing, while improving traceability and incident logging through a central administration portal.
“By unifying crew access under a single identity, we deliver stronger security and faster onboarding. also offers you the ability to easily try out and integrate new systems, such as cybersecurity training, welfare initiatives, or other digital services, without having to manage thousands of separate accounts. With Dualog Identity, access is now automated,” said Silje Moan, Chief Commercial Officer at Dualog.
