Emergency! Port attacked! Multiple berths engulfed in massive fire!

Must read

On September 16, the Houthi group stated that the port city of Al Hudaydah in western Yemen, which is under the group’s control, was subjected to 12 Israeli airstrikes that day. Israeli warplanes bombed several berths at the port, causing a large fire.

It is reported that prior to the attack, the Israeli military had issued an “urgent” evacuation warning to the port of Al Hudaydah, Yemen, indicating that the Israeli military would launch an attack within the next few hours.

A spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces stated that, in light of the military activities carried out by the Houthi group in the region, the IDF would attack the areas marked on the map within the next few hours. He demanded that all personnel at the port of Al Hudaydah and vessels berthed there immediately evacuate the area, warning that anyone remaining in the area would face life-threatening danger.

Two sources at the port said the targets of the attack were three terminals that had been restored after previous Israeli strikes, and the assault lasted for about 10 minutes.

After the attack occurred, the Israeli Minister of Defense stated on social media, “The Houthi organization will continue to suffer strikes and will pay a heavy price for any attempt to attack the State of Israel.” He stated that a military infrastructure of the Houthis at the port of Al Hudaydah was attacked, claiming the port was being used to transfer weapons from Iran. The Israeli military also said this was a response to repeated attacks on Israel by the Houthis.

SANA’A NEWS: On the 16th, the Yemeni Houthi group stated that it had launched attacks on the central Israeli city of Tel Aviv and the southern Red Sea port city of Eilat, respectively, in response to the Israeli airstrikes on the port of Al Hudaydah in western Yemen that same day.

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea, in a statement delivered via the group-controlled Al-Masirah TV, said the group used a “Palestine-2” hypersonic ballistic missile to attack a “sensitive target” in southern Tel Aviv and used a drone to attack Ramon Airport in Eilat, in response to Israel’s escalation of military operations in the Gaza Strip and its “aggression” against Yemen.

The Houthi attack occurred hours after the Israeli military announced airstrikes on the port of Al Hudaydah, Yemen. The Houthis said the airstrikes resulted in injuries to several port workers and the destruction of some facilities. The Israeli military stated that the target of the airstrikes was the Houthis’ “military infrastructure.”

On the 16th, the Israel Defense Forces issued a statement saying that the Israeli Air Force had intercepted a missile launched by the Yemeni Houthi group that evening. Israeli media reported that the attack caused no casualties or property damage.

According to Israeli media statistics, since Israel resumed military operations in the Gaza Strip on March 18, the Houthis have launched at least 85 ballistic missiles and 37 drones toward Israel. The Houthis recently reiterated that they will only stop attacks against Israel if Israel ceases its aggression and blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Currently, every move in the situation in the Middle East’s Red Sea region continues to affect changes in the shipping market. Whether the Red Sea situation will cool down in the future remains unclear, and shipping still faces high risks and uncertainty…
