Laure Mandrou: “we want to create synergies, drawing on our experience in ground-breaking projects” (source: Technip Energies)
Equinor and Technip Energies are to work together on steel structures for floating wind projects
The floating wind developer and offshore wind solutions provider are to develop semi-submersible structures for floating wind and want to accelerate technology development, reduce costs and ‘develop local value opportunities.’
The collaboration builds on their joint ambition to drive the industrialization of floating offshore wind. By teaming up in the early design phase of a floating wind project, they hope to unlock value from integration and maximum use of fabrication capacities.
Technip Energies senior vice president carbon-free solutions Laure Mandrou said, “We believe partnering is an essential step to reach net-zero. This agreement extends our recent collaboration in floating wind, creating synergies by combining Technip Energies’ and Equinor’s experience in the development of core technology and the delivery of ground-breaking projects.”
Equinor senior vice president renewables solutions Beate Myking said collaboration with Technip Energies will enable the company to continue to develop its floating wind toolbox and customize locally-adapted industrial solutions for floating wind projects.
