Esbjerg Havn has become a member of the global Port Innovators Network, which helps ports from around the world accelerate the development of green technologies and solutions in the maritime sector.
“It is absolutely crucial for the development of Esbjerg Havn that we cultivate a strong and active innovation culture with international reach, which can give us new knowledge and inspiration. This is exactly what we achieve through our collaboration in the Port Innovators Network,” says Dennis Jul Pedersen, CEO of Esbjerg Havn.
The purpose of the network is to share knowledge, ideas, and innovation across ports, continents, and technologies.
Through membership, the seven member ports gain access to a global ecosystem. Here, the ports are connected with research institutions and businesses at the various locations, which continuously work to develop and test new technologies together. This includes finding answers to the complex challenges that companies in the ports face across digitalization, logistics, and sustainable solutions.
The network was founded by homePort in Germany, THE PIER in Canada, and Opentop in Spain. Subsequently, several international ports have joined: Port of Açu in Brazil, Port of Bahía Blanca in Argentina, and Port of San Diego in the USA.
