Evergas alters management after change of ownership and CEO departure

Must read

A new chief executive and board of directors have come in at Evergas A/S after US company Seapeak assumed ownership of the gas carrier.

Danish gas carrier Evergas is making important changes after having received a new owner and bid the company’s CEO farewell.

In September 2022, French Jaccar sold the carrier to US shipowner Seapeak in a USD 700m transaction, which has closed this week.

Now, the new owner is making changes to the top management and board of Evergas A/S, as evident from the Danish Central Business Register (CVR).

Steffen Jacobsen, who came on board as CEO in 2015, has already announced his departure from the company in order to focus on consultancy and board tasks instead.

He will be replaced by Ajay Arora, former vice president with responsibility of the Evergas fleet. Arora has also been with carrier Maersk Tankers and ship management company Anglo Eastern.

The Danish company will furthermore receive a new board of directors, consisting of Chairman Michel Christian Nielsen along with Pia Lindberg and Nathan Kim.

The change of ownership also entails that Evergas will assume the Seapeak name and be rebranded.

Evergas owns and operates two very large ethane carriers (VLECs) and eight /liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels. All ships are occupied at fixed time charter contracts. Evergas also operates six liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vessels on leasing contracts set to terminate in 2024.

In 2021, Evergas A/S landed a profit of USD 7.54m – a similar result was achieved the year before.
