Explosions on two different tankers in the Black Sea

Turkey launched a rescue mission after reports of explosions and a fire on two tankers in the Black Sea.

The Chalkis Port Authority was informed of a collision incident between two cargo ships (C/V) within the commercial port of Chalkis.

At noon today, the Chania Port Authority was informed by the Unified Coordination Center for Search and Rescue of the H.C.G.-H.N.M.R. (UCCSR) that a 22-year-old foreigner (Russian national), a crew member of a Russian-flagged tanker, which was located 55 nautical miles southwest of Crete, required immediate hospital care.

This morning, the Kythira Port Authority was informed of the inability of the passenger-car carrier (/C) ship “PORFYROUSA” H.P. 11732 to approach the port of Antikythera due to adverse weather conditions.
