Vard Marine Inc., a subsidiary of Fincantieri, announced that Fibreglass Solutions Inc. has been selected as a preferred supplier for Team Vigilance, a partnership developing naval solutions for the Royal Canadian Navy’s future fleet requirements.
The Vigilance platform is intended to replace and surpass the current Maritime Coastal Defence Vessel (MCDV) capabilities, while also extending operational performance beyond the limits of existing Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessels.
According to Vard Marine, the design combines advanced features with cost efficiency and aims to maintain lifecycle cost advantages associated with the company’s naval designs.
Team Vigilance, which includes Thales Canada, Ontario Shipyards, SH Defence, and Fincantieri, seeks to provide a Canadian-designed, Canadian-built, and Canadian-equipped naval asset capable of global deployment.
