Must read

Remazel, a company of the Fincantieri Group, signed a contract with Jan De Nul for the supply of mission-critical equipment for a new-build vessel. The agreement consists of the design and supply of an advanced system for the transport and placement of rocks on the seabed, intended for the protection of cables and pipelines.

The solution developed by Remazel will allow operations at depths of up to 400 meters and a production capacity of 2,000 /hour, guaranteeing precision, efficiency, and operational continuity even in adverse sea conditions. The centralized control system will coordinate all equipment on board, optimizing processes and increasing overall operational safety.

The agreement represents a further step in the Fincantieri Group’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the subsea sector and consolidates its position as a leading technological partner in the protection of offshore subsea infrastructure, an increasingly strategic area in the global geopolitical context.

Thanks to an integrated supply chain that combines competencies, technologies, and industrial capabilities, the Group positions itself as a comprehensive player capable of offering cutting-edge solutions along the entire value chain, anticipating market evolution and responding to the new challenges posed by the growing complexity of subsea scenarios.

Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and General Manager of Fincantieri, stated that “the agreement with Jan De Nul demonstrates the evolution of the maritime world and confirms the importance of seabed operations. Our rock placement solution represents a cutting-edge area in the protection of subsea infrastructure, crucial for future defense and security scenarios.”

“We are very proud of the progress of our subsidiary Remazel, which confirms its position as an international leader in the engineering and implementation of pioneering and highly innovative electromechanical solutions on board vessels and on the seabed, thanks to the consolidated industrial relationships with sector leaders such as Jan De Nul,” added Folgiero.
