The first ship carrying U.S. wheat to Bangladesh since the two countries reached an agreement where Bangladesh committed to purchasing more American wheat has departed. The ship was boarded the weekend of Aug. 30-31. It’s the first vessel loaded for the Bangladesh government since the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the United States in July. Bangladesh agreed to purchase 700,000 metric tons of U.S. wheat each year for the next five years.
