At the threshold of a new energy frontier. That is exactly where Namibia finds itself in 2025, a nation rich in potential, determined to turn exploration into real, lasting industry action.
In August 2025, the 3rd Namibia Oil and Gas Conference (NOGC 2025) in Windhoek is set to bring this vision to life.
Running from 12 to 15 August 2025, the conference will not just be another industry event; it will be a strategic turning point designed to position Namibia firmly as the next frontier for oil, gas, and energy development.
Hosted by the Economic Association of Namibia (EAN), with partners such as the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), NAMCOR, and SNC Incorporated, the event enjoys official backing from Namibia’s Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy.
If previous editions hinted at Namibia’s ambitions, 2025’s conference is the clearest signal yet that the country is moving from exploration to full-scale industry development.
This year’s event is expanding in both size and scope. The exhibition space is doubling to meet growing interest in showcasing the latest technologies, solutions, and services in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. Organisers have also strengthened the programme with enhanced networking opportunities designed to encourage collaboration and help drive sustainable growth.
The conference’s growth reflects its increasing relevance. Between its first and second editions, the event saw exhibitions grow 52% with a 40% jump in attendees. Last year alone attracted over 1,012 delegates, 71 speakers, 42 exhibitors, and participation from 35 countries—clear evidence of the enthusiasm both locally and internationally.
For Jesaya Hano-Oshike, Deputy Chairman of the Economic Association of Namibia, this is part of a deliberate strategy. “We are excited to expand the conference for 2025 and place a stronger emphasis on positioning Namibia as the next energy frontier,” he explained, noting the importance of bringing in more entrepreneurs, SMEs and new entrants to the market.
Importantly, he highlighted a practical dimension: introducing a mentor-and-mentee platform for youth and identifying beneficiaries for public exhibitor fees, underlining the event’s social responsibility commitment.
This year’s conference offers an expanded four-day agenda, carefully structured to deliver real value to all attendees, from students and early-career professionals to seasoned industry executives.

One of the most anticipated themes at NOGC 2025 is Namibia’s emerging role in the natural gas sector. Dedicated sessions will explore major projects like the Kudu Gas Field and promising offshore discoveries.
Discussions will address infrastructure needs, investment opportunities, and how natural gas can help the country transition to a lower-carbon economy while enhancing regional energy security.
Paulo Coelho, Manager of Marketing, Communication and Public Relations at NAMCOR, emphasised the urgency behind the event’s theme: “From Exploration to Action: Positioning Namibia as the Next Energy Frontier.”
“This year, we are moving beyond just discovering resources,” he said. “We are focused on taking real steps to grow the industry and place Namibia at the centre of the global energy stage.”
He also delivered an open invitation to Namibia’s youth—students, entrepreneurs, and early-career professionals—to get involved, attend the conference, join dialogues, ask questions, and explore how their skills and ideas fit into this dynamic industry.
For Margreth Gustavo, Executive Director of Strategy & Branding at NIPDB, the event is not only about boosting GDP but also about making sure growth is inclusive and sustainable.
“Our strategic focus for 2025 revolves around three pillars,” she explained:
“The future of Namibia’s oil and gas industry is not offshore,” she added, “it is here onshore, in our people, our businesses and our bold ambitions.”
The Namibia Oil and Gas Conference has quickly become the leading gathering for energy sector stakeholders in the region, attracting oil and gas companies, suppliers, regulators, government officials, and service providers.
As Namibia positions itself as a serious energy player, events like NOGC 2025 will play a critical role in helping the country shape its energy future, not just in terms of barrels of oil or cubic feet of gas, but in how those resources can drive skills development, industrial growth, and long-term prosperity.
If you are involved in the energy sector, or want to be, this is not a conference to miss.
