GasLog Ltd. held a double naming ceremony on 16 September at Hanwha Ocean Shipyard in Geoje, South Korea, for the LNG carriers Woodside Jirrubakura and Woodside Barrumbara, according to the company’s release.
The vessels were officially named by Mrs. Shelley Barrett, Woodside Energy FPSO and Macedon Joint Venture Coordinator, who conducted the traditional champagne breaking. According to the company, the names carry meanings in the Ngarluma language of Western Australia: “Jirrubakura” refers to crayfish and “Barrumbara” to barramundi.
The vessels are scheduled for delivery in September and November and will be equipped with HP-2S MEGI engines, two shaft generators, an air lubrication system, and a full reliquefaction system.
