General cargo ship ran onto embankment in Kiel Canal

General cargo ship LIBERTA suffered engine failure and ran onto embankment in Kiel Canal near Levensau High Bridge at around 0610 UTC Apr 19, while transiting Kiel Canal in western direction, en route from Ust Luga Russia to Antwerp. Extent of damages unknown, the ship was taken off embankment and towed back to Kiel. She was berthed in Kiel Canal near Kiel Locks at around 0820 UTC Apr 19. Judging from ship’s photo, she may suffer serious hull damages.
