The fishing fishing village of Ko Panyi in Phang Nga Province, Thailand; Genting Dream calls Phuket, Thailand from mid-November.
Resorts World Cruises’ Genting Dream will operate three- and five-night cruises to Phuket, Thailand from mid-November until April 2024.
The five-night sailings will leave from Singapore on November 20, 2022 and March 12, 2023 calling at Penang, Malaysia and Phuket. Alternatively, passengers can depart from Malaysia’s Port Klang on November 21, 2022 or 13 March, 2023 for a five-night Penang, Phuket, Singapore cruise.
Three-night cruises
Bookings open November 15, 2022 for three-night cruises to Phuket from Singapore, and three-night sailings to Singapore and Phuket from Port Klang running between May 2023 and April 2024.
Positive demand
‘The response for Genting Dream’s two-night and three-night cruises has been very positive and is gaining strong momentum…’ explained Michael Goh, president, Resorts World Cruises. ‘As such, the introduction of Phuket as a cruise destination is timely and will further fuel the growth of the domestic and fly-cruise markets in the region.’
He added, ‘Vacationers will now have more travel choices to Phuket, including the comfort and convenience of a cruise ship, which is inclusive of meals, recreational activities and entertainment. With the ongoing support of the Tourism of Thailand Authority, we will continue to work closely together to develop Phuket as a key cruise destination for Resorts World Cruises.’

According to Gentine, there will be ‘ample’ stopover time on Phuket, allowing passengers the opportunity to discover the best of Phuket such as Phi Phi Ley Island, Phi Phi Don and Bamboo Island. Or they may interact with elephants at the jungle sanctuaries, visit cultural and religious sites inclduing Wat Chalong, Big Buddha and Phuket Old Town or head for the destination’s street markets and well-known malls like Pornthip and Central Department Store.
