Getting to know V2 Group, the new startup that wants to revolutionize the naval industry

Must read

In times of maximum responsibility towards the environment and sustainability in the maritime sector, we encounter the unstoppable growth of V2Group. A company born from market necessity in the nautical and naval world. This startup encompasses different companies that have now been absorbed by the parent company. V2 Group has two very distinct business lines, as stated by the company’s CEO, Albert Chamorro. “One is dedicated to the boat manufacturing business, while the other is dedicated to components that can support other sectors such as shipyards.” With two headquarters, one in Mallorca and another in Barcelona, although in the Catalan capital they are about to inaugurate their new location at Marina A Vela which is meant to take them a step forward, the growth of this startup is demonstrated by these words from Chamorro himself. “Like any foundational startup, the beginnings were slow; you have to invest time and resources. The timelines have been conventional, but now we are at a point where we have enough knowledge to scale and focus only on our improvement and growth.”

V2 Group has two very defined business lines with services to offer to interested parties. Firstly, cutting-edge technology for the design of nautical vessels, and on the other hand, through V2 Printworks, it offers engineering, design, and custom manufacturing. In the short time they have been trying to carve out a space in the nautical business, Albert Chamorro is clear about what they can offer. “Large-format 3D printing allows you to play with geometries and different structures. The nautical world is a sector where it is increasingly difficult to achieve scale. Here we can customize and achieve high volume in a short time, and that is a very competitive advantage,” highlighted the CEO of V2 Group.

Benefits that can be observed not only in manufacturing and its speed but also in other aspects that companies in the sector are increasingly valuing. “The materials used have a much longer lifespan than the fiber typically used in the sector,” said Chamorro, who wanted to provide more details on his statements and contrasted it with a conducted study. “The data is a bit complicated to standardize, but in the proof of concept for the catamaran we made, we reduced manufacturing time by 30-40% or by 50% in molds,” indicated the young CEO of V2 Group.

The growth of this startup is palpable and demonstrable, as Albert Chamorro has said. “We have different applications both within the nautical sector and outside. We have had projects in the superyacht industry, we are involved in a project for the manufacturing of molds and other important industrial components.” With these perspectives, the future awaiting V2 Group seems bright, although from within, they are also aware that there is still a long way to go. “The company’s objectives are clear: we want traction. We have a technology that we know works, and now we need to build a network of partners to start operating in these sectors,” stated Albert Chamorro. Therefore, we will see if the sports and recreational nautical industry has unintentionally found its best partner and ally in V2 Group, a continuously growing startup with Catalan-Balearic roots and brilliant ideas for the future of the sector.
