Over 1.25 million passengers transported in a decade of connections with Italy

Durrës – From 2015 to today, GNV has transported over 1,250,000 passengers between Italy and Albania, establishing itself as one of the leading maritime operators on this route. In 2024, a significant increase in volumes has been observed, with a projected 6% growth in 2025. The positive trend is further confirmed by the results of the last three months – April, May, and June – which show a 14% increase compared to the same period the previous year. For the summer of 2025, the company expects to maintain this positive trajectory. A celebration was held in Durrës aboard the GNV Antares ship to mark the first ten years of operations for the MSC Group’s ferry company on the Bari–Durrës line, launched in August 2015. Approximately 100 guests, including customers, commercial partners, and institutional representatives, were welcomed aboard by Matteo Della Valle, Chief Commercial Officer of GNV, along with a GNV management delegation and the ship’s Captain, Vito Malato.

“The Bari-Durrës route is very important for us, as it complements our served routes with a strategic presence in the Adriatic, not only from a geographical standpoint but also for its strong symbolic value in connecting the two shores. Ten years ago, we entered this market with confidence and vision, and today we celebrate a truly significant milestone for GNV. – stated Matteo Della Valle – We continue to see steady growth on this trade, thanks also to a solid and extensive commercial network. We collaborate daily with around 100 Albanian travel agencies to provide reliable, comfortable solutions that always align with passengers’ needs. The tourism market also continues to grow, with a steady flow of international visitors: a favorable context that encourages us to invest and continuously improve the quality of our service.”

Currently operating daily on the Bari-Durrës route is the GNV Antares: it can accommodate approximately 1,700 passengers and features 370 cabins, including accommodations designed for those traveling with pets. Common areas include a pizzeria, a restaurant, a self-service area, and a snack bar, as well as an onboard shop and a dedicated children’s play area. The garage, with a capacity of 1,800 linear meters, allows for the boarding of a large number of vehicles.
