Must read

GENOA – GNV, a ferry company (MS group) strengthens its service on the Naples-Palermo route by introducing two evening departures with differentiated schedules for five days a week, guaranteed by two ships departing from Palermo to Naples and vice versa. The new schedule allows for more effective service to different customer segments and meets the multiple mobility needs of passengers and freight throughout the winter season and in view of the summer of 2026.

As of November 25th, the service has therefore been strengthened, increasing from 3300 linear meters to 4700 linear meters of availability with GNV Splendid and GNV Auriga, to which Golden Carrier (on temporary charter) has been added. Starting next December 19th, with the further addition of GNV Sirio, the number of ships in service will rise from 3 to 4, reaching at full capacity a total of over 6000 linear meters, for an overall strengthening of the loading capacity on the route between the Campanian and Sicilian regional capitals.

Bookings in recent days have already shown a marked increase compared to the same period last year, demonstrating the strong interest of passengers and freight operators in this connection.

The operation allows the Company to enhance one of the most strategic connections in its network, ensuring a more flexible service and contributing to the socioeconomic growth of the connected territories. The Naples-Palermo route continues, in fact, to support essential production chains, facilitating exchanges between Campania, Sicily, and the rest of Italy.

Matteo Della Valle, chief commercial officer of GNV: «We are very pleased to be able to enhance the Naples-Palermo route, a historic and strategic line for our network. The strengthening of loading capacity and the two evening departures for five days a week allow us to respond even better to a strongly growing market demand, both for passengers and freight. The positive response in bookings confirms the importance of this connection for the communities and for the production chains that unite Campania and Sicily. With this intervention, we continue to guarantee a reliable service that is increasingly close to the needs of the territories».
