GX Superyachts’ Construction Enters Outfitting Phase for Hybrid-Powered Vessel

Must read

With sea trials scheduled for early 2026, the GX24 continues to lead the charge toward a new generation of yachts that combine environmental responsibility with luxury and performance

GX Superyachts is constructing a revolutionary hybrid-powered vessel – the GX42 – a flagship 42-metre model that leads the brand’s vision for Responsible Yachting. The project is in steady progress, moving confidently through the build schedule at SES Yacht’s advanced facilities in Istanbul, Turkey. It remains on course for delivery in summer 2026.

Since the successful hull turning and superstructure joining earlier this year, the yacht has entered a new phase of outfitting. The aluminium structure is now fully complete. Inside, the thermal insulation is approximately 80 percent installed, and the main piping systems have also reached 80 percent completion. The electrical installation has advanced to 25 percent, and the paint application is 50 percent finished.

Moreover, bespoke interior furniture, shaped by Marco Casali’s design vision, is progressing well, with 50 percent of items complete in the workshop. GX Superyachts unveiled the first interior renderings of the GX42, in May 2025, designed by Casali with a focus on relaxed, family-oriented living. The Raised Pilot House layout allows for generous accommodation, including a main-deck owner’s suite and full-beam VIP cabin. Natural materials, soft curves, and a calming palette reinforce the yacht’s ethos of comfort and sustainability – fully aligned with the brand’s Responsible Yachting vision.

The vessel’s advanced hybrid propulsion system, which combines diesel-electric drive with significant solar power generation, has completed its factory testing phase and is now ready for delivery and installation at the shipyard.

Responsible Yachting

Vladimir Zinchenko, founder and CEO of GX Superyachts, said it’s inspiring to witness the GX42 taking shape so smoothly. “Each milestone reinforces our belief that the GX42 will set a new benchmark in responsible yachting – a vessel that delivers both elegant design and low-impact cruising. The project is running smoothly and exceeding expectations.”

Andrea Armas, consultant to the Board of Directors at GX Superyachts, said they are pushing the boundary of responsible yachting, navigating through a new era of technological advancement, tailoring the dream of Yacht owners into a sustainable reality.

The next phase of construction will be the finalization of insulation and piping, continued electrical installation, onboard interior fit-out, and integration of the hybrid propulsion system. With sea trials scheduled for early 2026, the GX24 continues to lead the charge toward a new generation of yachts that combine environmental responsibility with luxury and performance. Part of a larger range from 24 to 56 metres, the GX42 exemplifies GX Superyachts’ commitment to building smart, efficient yachts that meet the demands of today’s conscientious owners without compromising style or comfort.
