Hd Hyundai, from January a new shipyard operational in the Philippines

Seoul – The South Korean group Hd Hyundai will begin new shipbuilding in the Philippines starting January 2026, using a renovated shipyard at Subic Bay with a production capacity of up to 10 ships per year. The company has signed a ten-year lease agreement for 200 hectares with Agila Subic, the operator of the site previously managed by Hanjin and currently owned by the US fund Cerberus.

Hd Hyundai will invest approximately 550 million dollars over the next ten years. In the first phase, the shipyard will be dedicated to the construction of refined product tankers up to 250 meters in length, with estimated construction times between 16 and 18 months.
