Helix Robotics Solutions, the US robotics division of Helix Energy Solutions Group, has extended an agreement with Bordelon Marine to charter the Jones Act-compliant vessel Sheila Bordelon

As a result of the agreement, the ultra-light intervention vessel (ULIV) will remain on charter to Helix through June 2024.

Helix primarily operates the vessel to support offshore renewables and inspection, maintenance and repair activity for clients operating in US waters.

Recently, Helix contracted Shelia Bordelon to support the rapidly expanding offshore wind industry on the US East Coast.

Designed as a fuel-efficient intervention vessel, Shelia Bordelon has an NOV 50-tonne active heave compensated crane with 3,000 m of wire.

The vessel also has a mezzanine deck with internal offices, centralized online survey suite, offline data processing space and two Triton 200 hp remotely operated vehicles with survey capability.
