Two innovation projects, proposed by employees of the port of Huelva, have been recognized within the framework of the second edition of the ideas contest ‘Mejora tu puerto’, aimed at the staff of the Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva and convened by the Lonja de Innovación del puerto de Huelva and Telefónica. A real-time geographic information system for the improvement of operations, designed by César Cepas, has won the first prize while the creation of an odotype for the Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva, created by Carlos Javier Nuñez, has obtained the second prize.
In total, 11 very high-level projects were presented, which stood out for their creativity, feasibility and commitment to process improvement and the transformation of the port of Huelva, according to the jury. The president of the Autoridad Portuaria de Huelva, Alberto Santana, stated that “the port of Huelva has made a firm commitment to the digitalization and innovation of its internal processes to increase its competitiveness in the international logistics chain,” highlighted Alberto Santana. This proposal is part of the objectives of La Lonja de la Innovación to provide innovation through startups, established companies and the port itself.
