China News Service, Huaihua, October 31 (Fu Jingyi, Zhang Zhuo) The Hunan International Chamber of Commerce Logistics and Supply Chain Professional Committee was established on the 31st in Huaihua City, building a platform that gathers government, industry, research, finance, and other forces for collaboration to jointly address challenges in the international logistics and supply chain sector. On-site, the Hunan (Huaihua)-ASEAN Industrial Chain Supply Chain Cooperation and Exchange Meeting was also held, resulting in the signing of 12 projects with a total value of 10.7 billion yuan.
With the support and guidance of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan International Chamber of Commerce, the Hunan International Chamber of Commerce Logistics and Supply Chain Professional Committee was initiated and established by Hunan Xingsha Logistics Investment, together with Huaihua International Land Port and 14 other units. Its first batch consists of 53 members, covering all links of the entire chain in the province, including railway, highway, aviation, ports, comprehensive logistics, and manufacturing supply chains, possessing broad representativeness and a high degree of professionalism.
The establishment of the Hunan International Chamber of Commerce Logistics and Supply Chain Professional Committee provides Hunan enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, with more solid and reliable cross-border logistics and supply chain guarantees for “going global” and “bringing in,” offering more precise and professional services and support for their participation in the international division of labor and integration into the global supply chain. Simultaneously, it effectively addresses logistics pain points and blockages faced in international trade, cross-border e-commerce, the “going global” of Hunan enterprises, barter trade, and the construction of “overseas warehouses.”
During the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce and the Provincial Port Office, in conjunction with relevant departments and prefectural cities, promoted the construction of five major international trade channels and freight assembly centers according to the principles of “province-wide coordination, province-wide coverage, and province-wide linkage.” Among them, Huaihua, as an important strategic node of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor and a core member of the “13+2” inter-provincial consultation and cooperation mechanism, is making Huaihua International Land Port a powerful engine to fully build a new highland for inland reform and opening up.
In 2024, Huaihua’s regional GDP grew by 5.3%, and the total value of foreign trade imports and exports reached 13.76 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.9%, with the growth rate ranking first in Hunan Province for three consecutive years. As Hunan’s strategic pivot for对接 ASEAN and the only ASEAN freight assembly center, Huaihua has continuously deepened regional cooperation with ASEAN, achieving fruitful results in trade exchanges, enterprise investment, and industrial cooperation. In 2024, Huaihua’s total import and export volume with ASEAN reached 3.566 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.9%, ranking first in the province.
Currently, Huaihua has opened 7 international logistics channels, including China-Laos, China-Vietnam, and China-Myanmar, and 196 transportation routes. In 2024, it operated over 1,000 ASEAN freight trains, with 70% of the goods on the New Western Land-Sea Corridor being transported to ASEAN via Huaihua. The accelerated construction of the ASEAN Freight Assembly Center has achieved a 30-hour cross-border goods transit time to rivers and seas, “two-day delivery” for goods sent to Laos and Vietnam, and the transportation of Southeast Asian fruits within three days.
At the Hunan (Huaihua)-ASEAN Industrial Chain Supply Chain Cooperation and Exchange Meeting, 12 projects were signed on-site. The signed projects cover machinery manufacturing, bamboo industry, logistics, luggage and leather goods, smart cold chain, cross-border e-commerce, and other fields. Based on the actual needs of the participating enterprises and units, one-on-one negotiation activities were organized. Representatives from business associations, logistics, luggage, agriculture, financial institutions, and other enterprises from ASEAN countries were specially invited to the site for practical business negotiations.
