Imabari Shipbuilding completed the delivery of the 52,000 DWT Panamax tanker, named Ohana, built by Minami Nippon Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a company of the NYK Group.
This tanker, 184 meters in length, can transport IMO Type II and III chemical products. Each tank is equipped with an independent submerged pump, allowing for the simultaneous loading of six types of products.
Furthermore, the cargo tank has a frameless structure, which improves cleaning efficiency and reduces residual oil.
The vessel is equipped with equipment that meets various environmental requirements, such as the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (Marpol) and the Ballast Water Management Convention.
Regarding carbon dioxide emission reduction indicators, the Panamax meets not only the Phase 2 requirements but also those of Phase 3. Additionally, as an environmental conservation measure, it is equipped with a ballast water treatment system and equipment that complies with the Tier III regulation on NOx emissions.
