Imabari Shipbuilding and Nippon Shipyard, in collaboration with Marubeni Corporation, have received an order for two Aframax tankers from a Greek shipowner.
“With an eye on the future, we will build the vessels using the Megablock construction method, adopted in the 2000s, to increase our production capacity,” the Asian shipyard specified.
In this line, it highlighted that this is the first order for an Aframax tanker since 2008, pointing out that delivery will take place in 2027 and 2028.
“We will contribute to global shipping and navigational safety by providing vessels that satisfy cargo owners and shipowners,” Imabari Shipbuilding stated.
