The company, with a fleet of 172 vessels and an estimated value of $6.2 billion, proceeded with the sale of older vessels and investments in modern, more efficient /LR2 type tonnage.
In this context, the shipping company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, which in the second quarter of 2025 had contracted revenues of $3.1 billion, completed the sale of three vessels -including one 2010-built VLCC- generating total revenues of $69.1 million, while simultaneously strengthening its fleet.
The two Panamax vessels, built in 2005 (77,075 and 76,619 dwt), were sold for $8.3 million each. Respectively, the VLCC (296,988 dwt), built in 2010, had a total sale price of $52.5 million.
Navios Partners also took delivery of an /LR2 tanker, built in 2025, which has been chartered at a net rate of $27,446 per day for a period of five years.
It is noted that in June 2025 Navios Partners agreed to acquire two newbuilding /LR2 tankers, with a capacity of 115,000 dwt, equipped with scrubbers, from unaffiliated third parties, for a total purchase price of $133.0 million. The vessels are expected to be delivered to its fleet in the first half of 2027.
Meanwhile, as announced, Navios Maritime Partners L.P., with a credit rating of BB from Standard & Poor’s (S&P), is taking another step of financial strengthening, assigning Norwegian investment banks to organize a series of teleconferences with fixed-income investors from October 20, 2025. This process is estimated to function as a precursor to a potential issuance of a five-year senior unsecured bond in US dollars, provided market conditions are deemed favorable.
The net proceeds from the proposed issuance will be allocated, according to the company, for the repayment of existing loan obligations and for general corporate purposes, within the framework of the strategic management of the group’s debt and capital structure.
Navios Partners manages 65 dry bulk vessels, 51 container vessels and 56 tankers, including 17 newbuilding tankers (12 /LR2 tankers and five MR2 tankers chartered under bareboat contracts), which are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2028, as well as eight newbuilding container vessels (four 7,900 TEU container vessels and four 8,850 TEU container vessels), which are expected to be delivered in the first half of 2028.
The Navios Partners fleet has a carrying capacity of 15.1 million dwt (8.6 million dwt for dry bulk vessels and 6.5 million dwt for tankers) and 287,243 TEUs for container vessels, with an average age of 9.7 years.
