In terms of weight, containerized cargo decreased by -3.6%
Last month, the port of Singapore handled 53.6 million
tons of goods, a volume that represents an increase of
+2.7% compared to July 2024 and a new record for this month. In the
container sector alone, 31.4 million
tons were handled (-3.6%), a traffic that in terms of 20′
containers handled reached a new absolute record of
3,866,860 TEU (+8.2%), achieved thanks to the growth of empty
containers. In the conventional cargo sector,
2.6 million tons were handled (+8.2%). Oil bulk cargo
increased by +20.4%, rising to 17.4 million tons, while other
bulk cargo decreased by -19.8% to 2.2 million tons.
