Eleven meetings scheduled for July

Today the Port System Authority of the Adriatic Sea Centrale has launched a process of informal consultations on the preliminary proposal of the new Ancona Port Master Plan, a proposal that incorporates the objectives defined by the Document of Strategic Planning of the Port System for the Doric port.
There are 11 meetings scheduled for July at the headquarters of the port authority to accept any comments and contributions on the Port Planning Document as it continues the strategic environmental assessment phase at the Ministry of Economic Development, Environment and Energy Security.

The Port Authority wanted to organize these discussions, which represent an additional opportunity for interaction with interested parties beyond those already required by law, to arrive at the definition of a PRP as widely shared as possible. The discussions, attended by the top management of the institution, the Technical Directorate, and the professionals responsible for drafting the PRP, included invited representatives from institutional clusters, law enforcement and military, trade unions, professional associations, and environmental and cultural organizations.

“It is our task,” explained the president of the Port Authority, Vincenzo Garofalo, during the first meeting involving companies, concessionaires, shipping agents, and freight forwarders, “to plan, through the PRP, what the port of the future will be. Not an easy task, as it requires us to forecast traffic trends for the coming years in relation to the strategic choices of national ports, geopolitics, and international economic dynamics—just as port operators do constantly. For this reason, we are keen to listen to the contributions of those who experience the port daily, to build a development tool as widely shared as possible and suited to the needs of institutional clusters and stakeholders. Obviously, as the Port Authority, we will summarize the outcomes of these meetings.
