From 15 December 2022 to 28 February 2023, a power cable will be installed temporarily between Sai Kung waterfront promenade and the submerged rock island at northwest of Yeung Chau.
The power cable connects the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (B):
(A) 22° 23.015’ N 114° 16.626’ E
(B) 22° 22.989’ N 114° 16.629’ E
The power cable is supported by steel frames to stay on the water surface at all times. A floating boom will be installed in parallel to both sides of the power cable. Yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the position of the power cable.
Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of all vessels navigating in the vicinity should keep away from the power cable and proceed with caution.
