ANCONA – Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October, the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority promoted multimedia guided tours of the port of Ancona with free participation and mandatory reservation.
The tour will allow you to discover the port of Ancona accompanied by a tourist guide and with the support of digital technology.
The initiative is part of the Italian port days, a national event coordinated by Assoporti, intended to introduce the port facilities to the communities and to enhance the link that unites the maritime cluster with the cities of which they are a part.
The multimedia guided tours will take place on 18 October at 16:00, in Italian and English, and on 19 October with a double appointment in Italian, at 10:00 and 16:00. The meeting point will be at Porta Pia with a walking route, of a tourist level and lasting about 2 hours, which will reach the ancient Porto with in-depth insights dedicated to the Mole Vanvitelliana, Porta Pia, statue of the emperor Trajan, Casa del Capitano, Arch of Trajan, Fontana dei due soli and the San Francesco wharf.
Participation in the tours, for a maximum of 40 people, is free but it is necessary to book on the website
The tours will be an experience to combine the suggestion of the places with the innovative digital content present on the multimedia platform , created in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Marche as part of the Adrijoroutes project, funded by the European program Italy-Croatia. A virtual museum where eight Italian and Croatian ports open the doors to their architectural, historical, and traditional heritage by sharing various cross-border tourist routes. At the stages of the journey, it will be possible to listen to the guide’s story and deepen the knowledge of the place through a QR code that will be distributed to participants.
