Must read

“The Senate of the United States decided on Thursday, September 18th, to ratify Kimberly Guilfoyle as the next Ambassador of the United States to the Hellenic Republic,” the American embassy in Athens states in an announcement.

“I am extremely grateful to President Donald J. Trump and the Senate of the United States for the trust they showed in me,” Ambassador Guilfoyle stated in her announcement following the ratification. “It is the greatest honor of my life to serve as the first woman Ambassador of the United States to the Hellenic Republic,” she emphasized.

“Greece is the cradle of democracy, freedom, and the rule of law – the same ideals that inspired the Founders of the United States and continue to make America the greatest country in the world,” she noted and added:

“As Ambassador, I look forward to collaborating with our Greek Allies to promote peace, prosperity, and security in the Eastern Mediterranean.

I intend to be a proud representative of President Trump, a staunch defender of American interests, and an unwavering friend of Greece and the Greek people.”

The appointed Ambassador Guilfoyle will be the 25th U.S. Ambassador to serve in Greece following the upgrade of the American Diplomatic Mission to an Embassy in 1942.
