Must read

Kodiak Gas Services has initiated the construction of two facilities in Midland and Pecos, Texas, marking an expansion of its presence in the Permian Basin.

The company’s investment in the sites reflects its dedication to operational excellence, employee development, and a long-term strategy in the region.

The Midland facility, spanning nearly 22 acres with over 140,000ft2 of space, is set to enhance Kodiak’s operational capacity.

It will also house the Bears Academy, a centre for advanced training and development, featuring amenities such as virtual reality labs and interactive classrooms.

The academy aims to provide unparalleled training within the contract compression industry.

Completion of the Midland facility is scheduled for June 2026.

In Pecos, the new nine-acre facility will encompass over 24,000ft2 of shop and office space.

This centre is designed to bolster Kodiak’s service capabilities in West Texas, particularly for customers in the western Permian Basin.

The Pecos facility is expected to be fully operational by December 2025.

Kodiak Gas Services EVP and chief operations officer Chad Lenamon said: “The groundbreaking of our new facilities in Midland and Pecos marks an exciting next chapter in Kodiak’s journey across the Permian Basin. These projects represent our continued investment in our people, our customers, and the communities where we operate. We’re building for the future—with purpose and drive.”

Kodiak, headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, is a provider of contract compression services for the US oil and gas industry, essential for the efficient production and transport of these resources.

The company supports producers and midstream clients with services for gas gathering, processing, gas lift, and transmission systems.
