Lhyfe and Chantiers de l’Atlantique are proposing fixed and floating platforms for green hydrogen (source: Lhyfe)
Lhyfe and shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop offshore hydrogen production platforms powered by electricity from offshore windfarms
The agreement comes as Lhyfe and Chantiers de l’Atlantique – who have been working together for 18 months as part of the SEM-REV project on the development of a pilot project for offshore hydrogen production – prepare to launch the world’s first offshore green hydrogen demonstrator in September 2022, off the coast of Saint-Nazaire.
Lhyfe and Chantiers de l’Atlantique said they plan to collaborate on green hydrogen production projects with on-grid or off-grid windfarms.
Chantiers de l’Atlantique will design, build and install the platforms and Lhyfe will be responsible for the design and operation of the hydrogen production facilities.
The partners plan to develop production solutions with a minimum capacity of 100 MW, installed on existing structures, or mounted on dedicated fixed or floating platforms.
