New York-based Lindblad Expeditions has agreed a new multi-year contract extending its agreement with Speedcast for the delivery of connectivity services to its fleet, expanding the deal to cover five additional ships.

As part of the agreement, the ships will implement Speedcast’s Unified Global Platform (UGP) network system, to deliver five times the bandwidth levels of its previous service and provide access to near-shore wireless services and SD-WAN capabilities, along with upgrading all onboard technology.

Speedcast recently announced the addition of 13 Gbps of capacity to its global network, nearly doubling the capacity it provides worldwide to 30 Gbps of total bandwidth.
